Measures to support accessibility

Rescue Ready takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

• Alternative Text: All meaningful images on this website include descriptive alt-text to ensure users with screen readers can understand the visual content.

• Heading Structure: We use a clear, logical heading structure (H1, H2, H3, etc.) to make it easier for users to navigate the page using assistive technology.

• Simple Language: We strive to use plain English to ensure our content is easy to understand.

• Keyboard Navigation: We aim to ensure the website is navigable via keyboard for those who cannot use a mouse.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Rescue Ready is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partial conformance means that while we have implemented key features like alt-text and semantic headings, some parts of the content may not yet fully conform to the strictest accessibility standards due to hosting provider limitations.
